By the term “scrubber”, you will understand the various pollution controlling techniques or the machineries. The scrubbers or the odour controlling tools are implemented in various waste water treatment plants or the sewage plants to get rid of the pollutants and bad odour that is associated with it. The volatile pollutants are the main cause of the bad smell that is undesirable for the employees who are working in the treatment plants and for those who are residing near the factories. The volatile compounds are categorized in biological, chemical and carbon wastes. By the implementation of the right type of odour controlling systems, the business owners can ensure that there will be reduced the bad smell in the atmosphere.

What is the function of the scrubbers?

As described before, scrubbers are considered the most effective tools that are utilized at various waste water treatment plants for removing the undesirable smell. Three different types of scrubbers or odour control systems are gaining importance in these days. The carbon scrubber is one such type that helps in controlling the smell that is caused by the carbon pollutants. They mainly help in getting rid of the carbon monoxide gas that is harmful to living beings. Here, activated carbon is used to filter the pollutants from the waste water, thus clearing the smell. Once, CO gets absorbed in the carbon filter, the bed is strengthened again by using the low content of carbon dioxide gas. The process is being repeated many times to lower the percentage to zero.

Another process is the chemical scrubber that utilizes chemical to reduce the pollutants from the waste water. The chemicals are highly effective in reducing nitrogen-related compounds from the atmosphere. These scrubbers are used at large waste water sectors for making the air free from pollution. The third and the simplest type of scrubber is the biological scrubber that functions in a simple way reducing the organic pollutants from the air. The maintenance of this scrubber is very easy. Here, microorganism film is being used that degrades the pollutants into harmful forms.

FRP odour control solutions

Nowadays, various companies offer fibreglass odour control techniques that are cost-effective and light in weight. They are widely used in various places. FRP tanks and baffle pipes that are heat resistant and chemical resistant at the same time.

Thus, if you are suffering from the excessive bad odour that is generated from the waste water and sewage treatment plants, it is very important to use the FRP based odour controlling processes that are highly effective in sterilizing bad smell.
